This week we took our tailored jackets from the previous week (i added another jacket and swapped material with a peer to achieve a patchwork effect that covered a chair skin tight.
Once happy with it on the chair and stapled/sewn to ensure it would stay in the same shape, it was taken off the chair and placed in several positions/inside out on the stand to create a garment.
Most of the outcomes were great, a handcrafted patchwork Victorian worker aesthetic is how i would describe the pieces. It shows how fabric manipulates its self to form folds that because of the way it was draped on the chair, you would never achieve on the same effect on the stand.
